How to Achieve Goals

With the New Year now upon us, I find myself surrounded by people still buzzing with the possibility of new hope.  They’re wondering how to achieve goals, but it’s a new year, a fresh beginning – anything is possible.

I really love that.  The sense of positivity a fresh start can bring, in spite of the negative overtones of an otherwise glum January.

If only it could stay that way.

Unfortunately, we both know that as the year moves on, most people forget their New Year goals, as normal life resumes after the holiday season, and ‘reality’ sets in for another busy year of hard work.

Sadly, they simply don’t know how to achieve goals.

If only people knew that it doesn’t have to be like that.

How Do YOU Handle Rejection?

I had an unexpected email this week from a man accusing me of sending him a spam email, and telling me (in the crudest way possible) to 'sling my hook' - only his exact phrase began with 'F' and ended with 'off'.

I never mix with people like that, so it came like a bolt out of the blue, but what also surprised me was the sender - a man at the forefront of a popular 'spiritual' forum.

Members of this forum come together from various spiritual niches, to explore The Law of Attraction in its many forms - to unite under the banner of purposeful creation.

I had spent some time on the forum a number of years ago, and had over a thousand 'friends' on there - people who had requested my friendship after reading an article or blog I'd written, or people I'd welcomed to the forum.

What I did this week was get back in touch with all of those people, as I'd put together a great course online that was free, and that I knew they'd enjoy.

Do You Ever Fake It?

You know where you are now in life – you only need look around you.

You also have a crazy desire for a better life – you know what you want and where you want to be.

When you become that person, what kind of people will you spend time with?  What environment will you and these people spend your days in?

If I turned up at your door right now, and physically dragged you to the place where these people hang out, and dropped you among them – would you stand out from the others, perhaps feel uncomfortable or out of place?

I ask this because yesterday, I did just that.  I found myself mixing with the kind of successful people I plan to spend more and more time with, in luxurious surroundings – yet it was unplanned and so I was dressed inappropriately.

It made me feel very uncomfortable, and got me to thinking on how I ‘usually’ operate, and how this way of thinking allows me to enjoy one success after another.

I wanted to share this with you – so you too can accelerate your progression from where you are now to where you really ‘want’ to be.

Have You Tried Doing It Slowly?

One aspect of life that I absolutely love, is the fact that we never stop learning.  we can never 'know it all' and as soon we begin to feel quite wise in our years, life reminds us of how little we actually know.

Take this morning for example.

I was shaving - something I've been doing now for almost 30 years, when I discovered something new.  Using a new blade, I was inspired to press ever so slightly harder, and to slow down.  Not that I usually shave fast I might add - I shave like I imagine anyone else with a thousand things to do might shave.  This morning, it was different.

I slowed right down, and found that I got a much closer shave, with less irritation, and no cuts.  Even my neck, either side of my Adam's apple, where I can be prone to a razor rash - a smooth closer shave.

I got to thinking.  Firstly, how I could miss this simple fact after shaving most days for 30 years.  Secondly, how sometimes simply slowing down can greatly improve all areas of life.

Do You Smile As You Wobble?

There comes a time in everyones life, when they enter what I call 'The Wobble Zone'.  This place is the 'no mans land' between the life they are comfortable with, and the better life they seek.

'The Wobble Zone' can be a tough nut to crack.

It can cause doubt, worry, nausea - even panic attacks.  In fact, the easiest way to ease your suffering is to step backwards into your old life, and return to your old habits.

That feels great for a while.
You convince yourself you didn't want that thing anyway.  However, if you really want that change in your life - from a new relationship to a career change, a house move or a new car, you HAVE TO travel through The Wobble Zone.

My name is Curtis Rivers, and as a movie stuntman and adventurer, I've spent a great deal of my life in this Wobble Zone.  I've had to become very comfortable in this seemingly hostile place, and in doing so – I’ve learned to navigate this strange place between your current reality and the one you dream of.

Do You Really Believe In Coincidence?

I'm sat writing this weeks blog, bleary eyed, in an airport coffee shop.  I'm on my way to Spain to help a documentary film crew with a few episodes of 'Dead or Alive' for National Geographic.

The very fact that I'm on my way to Spain today, is 100% down to a series of thoughts I had the last time I was in Spain just a few weeks ago.  I was there to work with director Ridley Scott.

Please let me explain and expand on that.

You see, when I say my current journey is taking place due to a series of thoughts, I mean just that.  No phone calls, no emails, no letters dropped in the mail - just pure thoughts. Creative thoughts, utilised in ' a certain way'  to turn thoughts into reality.

If you're new to my blogs, that might sound a little ' out there', a little 'science fiction', yet I assure you I mean everything I say - quite literally.

Are You a Mental Power Lifter or Mental Weakling?

Todays blog is all about Mental Strength.

In my career as a Hollywood stuntman, it’s paid dividends to remain fit and strong physically.

However, it is only in more recent years that I have come to value the power of mental strength, and realised the vast power of a sharp, focused and strong mind.

I’m sure you know the benefits of lifting weights, whether you choose to do so or not.

Imagine lifting a heavy dumbbell with your right arm every other day, while leaving your left arm in your pocket.  Within 6 weeks you’d be sporting a bulging right bicep, while your left bicep would be weak by comparison.
